For this unique line, L-DOOR joined forces with artist Guy Van den Branden (°Brussels 1926), who gained international acclaim in the world of art as the father and master of Constructivism. Under this collaboration, Guy Van den Branden kindly allowed the L-DOOR lacquering experts to transfer 5 of his creations onto a sectional door. For this project, the colours the artist had used were analysed by a laboratory and converted into Sikkens lacquer. The result is a unique and functional work of art where “Construction meets Constructivism”.

All in all, only 30 doors featuring these 5 creations by Guy Van den Branden will be produced. Every door will come with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist himself. On Friday 26/08/2011, in the presence of Guy Van den Branden, the first door of the L-DOOR Art Collection exited the lacquering line before being signed by the artist in person.

The L-DOOR Art Collection represents the acme of bespoke craftsmanship, giving clients a unique door and a genuine work of art.

With this new initiative, L-DOOR once again bears testimony to its corporate vision. L-DOOR markets innovative products, tailored to its customers. As creativity and the continuous quest for innovation are driven by management and the expertise of all its staff, L-DOOR can set itself apart from its competitors and offer its clients genuine added value.

CEO Luc De Bisschop, a lover of art himself, has every right to be proud of this achievement which will soon be on display in the brand-new L-DOOR showroom Cre-8-ive and does not exclude that similar projects with other artists may very well be on the cards in the future.

After all, projects like these stimulate creativity and the dynamism of the company as a whole, which is what L-DOOR stands for. The purity in the work by Guy Van den Branden matches the perfection L-DOOR has built its name on. Architect Etienne Wijns, who helped bring this project to fruition, is also very happy with the result. Collaborations between Belgian companies and Belgian artists can only benefit both parties, take the art out of galleries to a certain extent and bring it closer to the public.
